Boohoo Dress of the Month

Boohoo have launched the Bloggers Dress Of The Month campaign, where each month a selection of bloggers are asked to style the Dress Of The Month in a way that best suits them. Boohoo asked if I would like to take part in the style challenge and receive a surprise product in the post. I was a little nervous (I have very specific taste) but I was intrigued and just had to say yes! Here I am styling the Karlie Satin Wrap Dress in this beautiful copper/chocolate shade.

I'll be honest, when I first opened the parcel I was a bit taken aback. I saw a lot of shiny silky fabric and although I loved the colour I wasn't sure how I was going to pull this off. I usually go for stretchy jersey or crepe fabrics, dresses that are slim fitting or flare out gently in a skater skirt style. This dress is a mix between a shirt and a wrap dress. It's a great length, not too short and slightly longer at the back. The attached belt is very very long which I like, I tied it around my waist twice in a bow, which adds a kimono vibe! It's certainly on trend and this challenge is all about embracing the new.

In contrast to its glamorous metallic shine, I decided to style this dress for day time wear. It's the most perfect colour for autumn. I'm wearing it as a long shirt top over black skinny jeans, with tan ankle boots and a trench coat. You could definitely wear this dress on a night out by pulling it round a little tighter and opting for bare legs and heels. Once the dress was on I liked it much more. It's one of those that looks a bit 'meh' on the hanger but transforms on the body. I enjoyed taking part in this campaign, leaving my comfort zone and trying something new! I'll be keeping an eye out for the other bloggers styling this dress...
