A Wardrobe Stylist on Your Phone

You all know by now how much I love to organise, especially when it comes to my clothes. Past blog posts have been, 'How to Minimalism Your Wardrobe' and 'How to Pack Outfits for a Holiday'. I'm obsessed with styling and re-styling my clothes and making the most out of every item. Cluise* is a new app that allows you to digitize your wardrobe and organise your clothes via your smartphone! (It's pretty much a 2016 version of Cher's wardrobe in Clueless). Cluise describe their app as 'a unique clothes recognition system' that will understand the type, style and pattern of every item you upload. All you need to do is take photos of your clothes and Cluise will sort them automatically.

Start by taking a photo of an item and adding it to your 'digital wardrobe'. Once you've uploaded a few things the app uses algorithms to combine your clothes into outfits based on the weather in your area and your preferences. Cluise also suggests new buys, potential purchases to add to your wardrobe based on your personal style. You can 'like' and 'dislike' throughout the app so Cluise learns more about you. It works really well, I was expecting to run into problems but the app is very well crafted and runs smoothly.

Here's an example of my very own Cluise wardrobe. You can see my profile page by downloading the app and searching for This Fashion is Mine. I've not yet cataloged every item of clothing I own, I can see that taking some time, but if you're keen to downsize and streamline your wardrobe this would be a very handy tool to use along side the process. I've started with casual everyday outfits because I feel that's where I need the most inspiration. I will wear the same jeans-and-tshirt combo again and again and never get around to wearing more adventurous stuff because finding items that go together just takes too long in the morning. With the Cluise app I can flick through their suggested outfit options until I find something I love or I can put together my own 'looks' and see what works together.

More importantly, Cluise is free on the app store and it's available on both iOS and Android. It costs nothing to give it a go and see if it works for you. The longest process is photographing your clothes but you can take snaps straight from the app and list them as you go. As I was going through my wardrobe I found a lot of things I no longer wear, so my top tip is to set up your Cluise profile alongside having big clear out and you'll be on your way to a organised and well functioning wardrobe in no time!
