The Best Cheesecake Ever at Prezzo Manchester

On Friday night I was invited down to sample the new menu at Prezzo, Manchester. Prezzo is a restaurant that's always caught my eye (this one is right next to The Living Room and The Botanist on Deansgate) but for some reason I've never eaten a meal there. I was more than happy to go along and try it out! Josh came with me of course and we had a really lovely date night, something we haven't done in a while as we usually order in!

Along with having possibly the best cheesecake of my life, the whole experience at Prezzo was enjoyable. It was a quiet night in the restaurant which meant we had fantastic service from the waiting staff and a manager was present and working the bar. The atmosphere was calm and relaxing. Sometimes a busy noisy restaurant is the last place you want to be after a long day at work.

Italian flat-breads to share! With four different toppings, my favourite was the spicy sausage pictured closest to the camera. The caramelised onion and melted cheese came in a close second but each flat-bread was delicious. A perfect starter to share between a couple, I'd recommend ordering two of these for a group of 4 or more friends.

I was so ready for my spaghetti and meatball main but I don't think anything could have prepared me for the vast quantity of pasta I was presented with! Spaghetti and meatballs is one of my all time favourite dishes to order and I've tried it at various Italian restaurants across the city. This one was wonderful, rich and full of tomato-y goodness. I did take half of it home though, in a well presented Prezzo box. I had to make room for dessert of course.

Josh ordered the 'Posh Pepperoni' pizza which looked as good as it tasted. He had only good things to say about his choice but non-surprisingly couldn't finish the whole thing so it was two takeaway boxes to-go!

The highlight of the night was my Honeycomb Smash Cheesecake. Absolute heaven. It was soft and creamy, ever so light with a buttery biscuit base and not at all stodgy. If you've ever tried a classic New York cheesecake this one was nothing like that! Which was perfect, just the way I like them. The whole time I kept thinking of that Friends episode where Rachel and Chandler eat the cheesecake. Honeycomb is one of my favourite sweet treats and I was excited to see chocolate coated honeycomb pieces sprinkled in their plenty on top. I'd be tempted to pop in to Prezzo just for this cheesecake every time I pass. Josh went for the Chocolate Hazelnut Cheesecake which came with a Ferrero Rocher on top and it was gone in seconds so he obviously enjoyed it thoroughly!

Would I visit again? Definitely. There's lots of choice on the menu and everything is reasonably priced for the quality of food and service. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. If you've never been to Prezzo before prepare yourselves for a huge but satisfying meal and don't be shy to ask for a takeout box - it's well worth taking home for lunch the next day
