Spring is here! Slowly the weather in the UK is improving (let's not talk about the snow we had last week) and it's time to start thinking about our spring and summer wardrobes. Most of my summer clothes are packed in boxes under the bed. It's tricky knowing when to make the switch and pack away my winter jumpers. But I'm definitely ready for warmer weather and fewer layers! Today I'm styling one outfit in two ways, taking you from day to night. Sticking to our minimalist fashion goals (or trying to) is all about styling the same items for new occasions...
New Look have recently launched Occasion Hub on their blog, providing styling advice on how to dress for various occasions! I'm helping them out and giving it a go myself by showing you guys how I would style two items from New Look's occasion range. For both a daytime event and night out in spring/summer! I'm styling their drape trench coat and a circle midi skirt. New Look kindly gifted me the items to feature.
This white midi skirt from New Look is beautiful. It's the perfect non-creasing waffle jersey but it's quite heavy so hangs just right. I've paired it with a blush pink crepe shirt and a pair of dusty pink brogues. This trench coat is light enough to wear throughout the British summer. Grey being one of my favourite colours to wear, of course I opted for this one but it's also available in a classic cream/beige.
All I've done is swap the top for a cropped racer back and the shoes for a pair of heels but you can see what a difference it makes. Add a statement necklace and part your hair in a different way and you're good to go. I'm going monochrome with this look and loosing the pastels makes it more appropriate for an evening out. Let me know how you would style this skirt for the summer!
