DIY Makeup Beauty Prints

Here's a DIY for the makeup lover and the home decor enthusiast! This is a really easy project to try that requires an hour of your time, some makeup (old or new, it's up to you) and a few picture frames. Wall art can be so expensive and although Etsy is full of beautiful beauty-themed prints it's cheaper and a lot more fun to make your own. If you've a blank wall at home that needs some love (perhaps above your dressing table) then these beauty art prints are just what you need. Plus, they are completely unique to you!

Lipstick Pout Print
Apply your favourite lipstick/s, then stamp those lips by kissing a sheet of smooth white paper. Frame in a simple white frame and give as a gift to the one you love this coming Valentine's Day or display on your own wall! You could even get all your best girlfriends together, stamp and sign your individual lip prints and you'll have a piece of art to treasure forever. I've seen brides do this with their bridesmaids before the wedding day, but you can create one to mark any special occasion.

Eyelashes Wall Art
Make a 3D piece of art by framing your false eyelashes in a box frame! You could buy cheap new falsies, these will hold their original curved shape much better than used lashes. Stick to a piece of card using tiny dots of a glue that dries clear. You could even use eyelash glue. Apply small amounts to the outer lashes (rather than the lash band) and stick only the edges down to your paper so you keep that 3D curved effect. I added a handwritten note to this piece, you could use a word or quote you love. You'll need a box frame with depth to it as you won't want these falsies pressing up against the glass.

Lipstick Swatches Print
Use your favourite lipsticks (or eye shadows) and swatch them on smooth paper for a quick and easy beauty print. Frame up and display above your dressing table. Add words, a quote or an inspirational message you'd like to be reminded of every day.

Which is your favourite beauty art piece? Will you be creating any of these this weekend? I like the way they look displayed together on the wall in various sized frames. The false lashes in the box frame is possibly my favourite. I'm not a big wearer of falsies so these were just sitting in a makeup drawer unused. If you have any makeup art ideas of your own I'd love to hear them, let me know what you'll be creating in the comments below...

  2. These are perfect. I think the false lash one is my favourite too, but they're all such good, creative ideas! I really like the idea of getting your girlfriends together for the lip print too.

    1. I can't wait to do the lip print idea with my girls for a special occasion. It's more meaningful, everyone had their own lip print like a signature or fingerprint! x
