Luxury Beauty for Christmas

Last week I was delighted to receive an invite to the Charlotte Tilbury press event at the Trafford Centre, Manchester. Charlotte Tilbury was there herself along with her wonderful team to introduce us to their best selling products and most importantly Charlotte's Christmas gift sets and goodies. Of which there are plenty! We were treated to mini makeovers and I was able to try loads of products whilst nibbling at CT biscuits and drinking tea.

Charlotte Tilbury is a brand I've always lusted after but I've never taken the plunge. Her makeup is a luxury. It's affordable, but certainly high end, with foundation at £30 and lipsticks at £23. When you hear so many good things about a brand that has so many bestselling products it's tricky to know where to begin. So the event on Tuesday was the perfect introduction to CT for me.

Gift sets for Christmas come in three price ranges; Trinkets, Treats and Treasures. It's safe to say I want everything and I'd be excited to see anything on this menu under my Christmas tree! We were introduced to the festive collection and what stood out the most for me was the 'Lipstick Wardrobe' (because who wouldn't want 10 beautiful iconic lipsticks all in one case?) and 'The Gift of Goddess Skin' travel kit which includes three of Charlotte's award winning skin care products; the clay mask, magic cream and wonderglow. I need this kit on Boxing Day for a pampering treat!

I have a few Trinkets to show you, and first up is my number one favourite item from the press day (and I'm so thankful we were gifted this product in our goody bags) it's the Mini Lipstick Charms! Teeny and sweet, the best gifts come in the smallest packages after all. These were so popular last Christmas they're back this year and priced at £29. They come in three shades to suit everyone's taste; 'Penelope Pink' which is a soft nude pink with a slight coral tone, 'Bitch Perfect' a very wearable nude and 'So Marilyn' an iconic red. The gold packaging with CT logo is gorgeous and the little ribbon ties mean you could even hang these from your Christmas tree!

Nocturnal Cat Eyes to Hypnotise is a shadow and liner set for £29 which comes in four shades. Below I have 'Silver Leopard' shadow with 'Black Magic' liner. Described as a glittering gunmetal grey with an intense petrol eyeliner. Charlotte explained she wanted everyone to be able to achieve a smokey eye, so she's putting the tools together in one neat gift set to make things simple. Smudge the shadow across the lid and blend out with a finger. Add liner in the waterline and on top of the lashes for a dramatic finish. These shadows are beautifully pigmented and butter soft, I'll be using Silver Leopard on New Year's Eve.

Another item back by popular demand is the 'Bar of Gold' highlighter for £32 with light reflecting properties for the tops of cheekbones, temples and the cupid's bow. I think this works best when applied with a finger and blended out with a brush. I struggle with highlighters on my super pale skin, I'll apply them and see no difference or see way too much glitter! But the Bar of Gold is subtle, it isn't full of chunky glitter it just shimmers. I love the rose gold packaging and magnetic closure.

We were treated to a demonstration of the Magic Foundation and Mini Miracle Eye Wand. What I loved immediately upon spotting CT's foundation was the wide range of shades available. Photographs of women with and without the foundation on were dotted around the room and it was really easy to identify with a skin tone and find the shade for you. The makeup artists on hand helped me and I was matched with the lightest shade, Number 1, of course! Thankfully this wasn't a shade with tons of cool pink undertones, it's fairly neutral, leaning towards the yellow, which is perfect for me. I plan on writing a full review on the Magic Foundation with photos included. I've heard amazing things, so far I've been really impressed and I think this product deserves it's own blog post.

If you'd like to see all the gifts available from Charlotte Tilbury, I've included the video guide below! What a perfect introduction to this brand, I'll be sure to report back on how I get along with all the products and I'd love to hear your recommendations for CT must-have items!
