London Trip | Photo Diary

On Tuesday I caught the train down to London with Josh for a few days away in the big smoke! We didn't make any big plans for the first day, instead we decided to stroll around the city, eat good food and enjoy what London had to offer. We've both been and done the major sight-seeing and touristy adventures before so there was no pressure to 'see things'.

After arriving at Euston we walked to our hotel, Premier Inn London Holborn which was about 20 minutes away on foot, close to Russell Square and quite easy to find. It's also brand new.
The room was a standard double, small but perfect. I love staying at a Premier Inn. I find they are always very clean and include all the necessities. Hairdryer, several well-lit wall mirrors (including a full length) with storage space and lots of hangers, not to mention huge king sized beds! We were also staying for breakfast the next morning, a full English of course, which was delicious. I'm not much of a morning person but it's always nice to stumble to the hotel restaurant and be greeted with a mountain of breakfast options!

For the rest of the day we pottered around London, ate Italian food, drank fancy lemonade and did some shopping. I finally got to go to Tiger. We walked through Trafalgar Square and Green Park. I exhausted myself and couldn't wait for a nap. We went out that night for Chinese food and a few drinks before slumping into bed to watch tv and eat chocolate - wild!

The next day we had bigger plans. One of my reasons for travelling to London was to get a tattoo by the wonderfully talented Rebecca Vincent who I'd been eager to get booked in with for ages. We headed to Parliament Tattoo in Finsbury Park and the whole afternoon was lovely. I've only got a few tattoos but I can say this was certainly the best the best experience as the team were so welcoming. Which helped especially after our slight tube nightmare! We also got to use Uber for the first time. We actually have Uber drivers in Manchester but I've not had the chance to try them out just yet.

I love to visit London, but I am always glad to be back up North where the tap water is clear and the air is slightly sweeter (or perhaps more farm-like?!) London has such a unique character, so it's always a fun trip, but I don't think I could handle the crowds on a daily basis!

  1. Your photos of London are lovely! I would happily go to London every weekend but travel is so expensive! Tiger is one of my favourite places - they have the best stuff I didn't even know I needed.

  2. Looks like you had a lovely time, Premier inn beds are so huge. I totally agree about the London vs Northern water/air thing, I miss grass when I go to London for a while. What did you get tattooed? =^-^=

  5. Such wonderful photos, and it seems like your trip was super fun! I really like the creative phone box - it's funny to think basically no-one uses them anymore!
I haven't ever stayed at Premier Inn, but will keep them in mind!
I live in London so am now very intrigued as to what countryside tap water tastes like!! :D

  7. I know exactly what you mean about the Northern air and water being a lot crisper! I study in London so it's always nice to explore the city then return to somewhere greener. Beautiful photos, you do the city such justice.
