Gradient Nails

Today I'm showing you how to create these gradient/ombre nails with two neutral colours, for soft and subtle nail art. All you need is two nail polishes that compliment each other, an old makeup applicator (the useless sponge kind) and a clear top coat...

Paint your nails with the darker base colour (Essie Master Plan) two coats if needed, and let them dry. Paint some of the lighter nail polish colour (Essie Fiji) on to a piece of plastic that can be cleaned (or thrown away) I used a A4 pocket sleeve from a file. Before it can dry, pick up some of the polish on a eye shadow sponge, dab off any excess and then sponge on to the end of each nail reducing the opacity as you move down the nail. Before the polish dries completely, use a clear top coat to seal in the design. This also blends the two shades together and gives a smoother appearance. Do one nail at a time!

  8. Love this combo for fall! Gradient nails are some of my favourite nail art to do because they're so quick and easy! I use makeup sponges for mine but using an eyeshadow sponge is genius. It's not like I use those for anything else anyway!
