Orange Is The New Pink
...or to be more precise, coral is the new pink. Coral is probably my most favourite makeup shade to wear throughout spring and summer. On my fair skin it works so well, and I often swap it with my everyday pink or nudes especially on sunnier days. Today I'm rounding up my favourite orange-toned products and you can be sure these work well on neutral and pale complexions...
Topshop Cream Blush 'Head Over Heels' - in the special edition rose gold packaging might I add! I love the Topshop cream blushes and I'm running so low on my hot pink 'Flush' so I wanted to pick up a new one this weekend. As with all the Topshop blushes, they are very pigmented so a little goes a long way. Topshop are celebrating 5 years of their beauty line so lots of items come beautifully packaged with shiny rose gold accents.
MAC 'Coral Bliss' - my absolute favourite 'summer time' lipstick from Mac. Not too bright and not too subtle, it lasts for ages and doesn't dry up on the lips as it's a cremesheen formula. (see swatches below)
Topshop 'Ohh La La' - a brighter, bolder and slightly matte version of Coral Bliss, this Topshop lipstick is chalkier but lasts very well throughout the day and is perfect for adding a bright colour to a otherwise neutral makeup look.
MAC 'Utterly Game' - A soft peach blush that can be built up to something more powerful. This one is great for pale skin as it doesn't come out looking dirty or too orange. It compliments my neutral-yellow undertones better than most pink blushes.
Makeup Revolution Vivid Liquid Blush 'Heart' - if you're looking for something with crazy amounts of pigment then this is the blush for you. I prefer liquid or cream blushes in the warmer months, I think they look more natural on the skin. You really only need a teeny pump of this one! And for £1 it's such a bargain too.
...and a quick word on nail polish as there's also an abundance of coral shades out there! Some of my favourites include Essie 'Haute as Hello', Models Own 'Coral', Barry M 'Peach Melba' and Barry M 'Coral'. Which coral products will you be reaching for?
