A Fragrance for Coffee Lovers

The Library of Fragrance are an exciting company new to the UK, producing Willy Wonka style fantastical fragrances that capture the smells that surround us everyday. Their perfumes and colognes range from subtle floral scents such as Cherry Blossom and Dandelion to the slightly weirder, Fireplace, Gin & Tonic and Baby Powder - to the downright bizarre, Spicy Curry, Sawdust and ...Cannabis Flower?! It's certainly an intriguing idea. I've always been interested in unique smelling perfumes and browsing through the huge variety The Library of Fragrance stock online, there are so many I want to try! These scents are also designed to be worn together and layered - so you can build up your collection and mix and match to create something unique that works for you.

I went for 'Espresso' to ease myself in (a middle ground on the odd-scale) and was kindly sent this bottle by the team. I'm not a coffee drinker, I'm more suited to tea, but I love the smell of fresh coffee and coffee flavoured things. When this 30ml cologne spray arrived I was unsure what to expect and whether I would like, or even wear, the perfume. Magically it smells just like coffee! It's quite a strong scent (which I like, because it lasts longer) and to me it's a sweeter smell than Espresso - more similar to a slice of coffee and walnut cake or a sugary frappuccino from Starbucks!

More importantly I wouldn't feel funny about wearing this on a day to day basis. Lots of people love the smell of coffee and I imagine baristas go home smelling just like this everyday. Designer perfumes are known for using coffee under-notes in their best selling products. It certainly makes a change from my usual floral/fruity fragrances. I'm so excited to see what else The Library of Fragrance has to offer. A selection of their fragrances will be available in Boots throughout the UK soon, but visit their website to explore all the options. Each 30ml bottle is £15. I'm eager to try Thunderstorm and Fireplace!

  1. I absolutely love the smell of coffee, even worked as a barista for 9 years. And just checking their perfume selection and I'm very intrigued. Though I'm also feeling drawn to Gin&Tonic. x

  2. I love Demeter! I don't think their scents are anything too special, but they're interesting, nonetheless. & Cannabis Flower!? I can almost smell the earthy musk. Mmmm. I think I'd like that, tbh!

  5. I saw these in Boots yesterday, there are so many weird scents haha. I didn't see this one though, although I'm not a big coffee lover so I'm not sure how I'd get on with this. xx

  7. I love the smell of coffee as well! Bath and Body Works sells a candle that smells like coffee, which is nice because it scents the room, but you don't necessarily have to wear it on yourself. xo
