Tanned Summer Makeup for Pale Skin
If you have a glance back through some previous posts of mine such as this one and this one you'll see that today, I am tanned. This is me at not my usual ghostly self. It's now June and the weather has been hot and sunny recently so I've been trying to achieve a golden glowy complexion. If you have pale skin you'll know just how difficult this is and most fake tans or bronzers are just far too dark for us. But I've found few products that work for me without looking too orange or fake.
I don't like to wear much makeup in the summer. I opt for a tinted moisturiser or tinted primer instead. I've been using the Murad Skin Perfecting Primer with Dewy Finish which adapts to lots of skin tones and works as a base for foundation or alone. But it's important to start off with a slightly darker skin tone and to do this I've been loving and using the He-Shi Face & Body tanning gel. I use the shade Medium on both my body and my face. When applying fake tan to my body I use a tanning mitt but for my face I just use my finger tips. And then wash and scrub them straight afterwards! The He-Shi tanning gel is great, it adds instant colour but develops over 6 hours. Avoid water while it develops but after that you can gently cleanse your face without removing too much of the tan. It's not yet caused any problems to my sensitive skin and it was streak free! I applied a very thin layer but it was all that was needed.
The best bronzer I have found for pale skin is Sleek's Contour Kit which is a two in one bronzer and highligher. Mine's in the shade 'Light'. It's really affordable too and I use this under my cheekbones and along my temples. The highlighter is ok, not the best I've found but it looks nice sitting on top of my cheekbones and in the middle of the chin. Combining these products means I can achieve a summer makeup look that isn't overwhelming for my pale complexion. What bronzing products have you found really work for pale skin?
