A week ago I embraced the world of hair crimping once again when I needed a boho dreamy style for a fashion shoot. I hunted around and found my friends were secret crimpers so I borrowed the Babyliss Wave Envy and the original Babyliss 4x4 Crimper. I was so thrilled with the results I ended up styling my own hair as well as the models. Since then I searched around for a crimper of my very own and came across the Babyliss Pro Mini Crimper and used it today to create this rough hippy inspired 'feathers-in-hair' style.
The crimper heats up extremely quickly and it doesn't need to be held on to the hair for long to produce a crimp. I recommend going for smaller sections of hair, not too thick (around the size of a thin delicate feather.) I chose pieces at random and crimped under the bottom layers as well as a few on top. Working with such small sections of hair does mean your hand gets tired after a while - I can't imagine how long it would take to do your entire head of hair! Because the crimper is so small and light it's great for travelling with. This would be my go-to festival hair style and once the crimps are in they can stay in fairly well for the next few days (until you wash your hair of course.)
I then added two plaits starting from my parting and messed these up a little with my fingers to make them much looser.
