Lip Care

I usually have quite dry lips all year round which is why I've become such an avid collector or lip balms. I tend to loose them easily too and then one day they all re-appear, together at the bottom of a bag I'd forgotten about. Today I wanted to share some of the ones I've been reaching for recently.

Carmex // Maybelline Baby Lips // Vaseline Aloe Vera // Korres Lip Butter in Jasmine // Balmi Coconut

I like to use a teeny bit of Carmex at night just before I turn out the light. It works a treat to smooth and soften dry lips and comes with that tingly feeling so you know it's doing it's job. But I'm not to keen on the taste or smell. I couldn't put up with wearing this all throughout the day and I'm paranoid everyone else can smell it too.

Maybelline Baby Lips in the original moisturising balm is a new find. They were raved about on US beauty blogs for months. To be honest it doesn't smell great and it looks like a cheapy supermarket balm. But after using it for a few days it's grown on me a lot and I keep it in my pocket for top ups throughout the day. It's fine to apply over the top of lipstick too.

Classic Vaseline. I've tested various flavours and special additions and I really like the aloe vera one. I've never managed to finish a tin of Vaseline, I always seem to loose them before I can. It's a handy one to have in the drawer at all times.

I bought my Korres Lip Butter in Sephora ages ago and I still have loads left. It's a better lip butter for adding a touch of sheer colour rather than a using as a treatment. Still leaves them feeling smooth though!

Balmi Coconut is my favourite flavour from Balmi and I also own Blackcurrant and Mint. But I feel like the balm is slightly too soft and slides about a bit rather than sinking in but I can't get over the delicious smell and the shape is just so cute! Love pulling this one out of my bag, even if I do get a few questioning looks. I've added the new square shaped Balmi's to my wish list and the new EOS balm flavours have also caught my eye.

  2. I am a big lip balm hoarder, and always come across long lost pots in the bottom of bags I'd forgotten about too! I actually love the smell of Carmex, it is quite unusual though. Vaseline is an old favourite of mine and I love the Cocoa Butter version. I didn't know Balmi did a coconut flavour! I will definitely be looking out for that, I love coconut - it reminds me of being away on holiday!
My favourite lip balm right now is the Nuxe Reve De Miel, it is so lovely and moisturising.

  7. I put Vaseline over my lips at night, before I go to sleep! I can't get on board with the Baby Lips though, it just doesn't work for me.
