DIY Pom Pom Scarf

I can't stop adding pom pom trim to everything! It makes me feel ready for the warmer weather so today I'm adorning this colourful scarf with a quick 30 minute DIY. All you need is a beautiful piece of light fabric (mine measures approx 60 x 30 inches.) Chiffon or satin works well. Or you can grab an old scarf that needs jazzing up a bit. You also need a bright length of pom pom trim. Around 2 metres. I bought 3m from this ebay seller.

Start by pinning your pom pom trim along the 2 shortest edges of your fabric. Then with a sewing machine (or hand sewn if you have the time) run a small stitch where the pins were. I left the edge under the pom poms raw because I liked the slightly frayed edges but I did sew a small hem up each of the long sides. This is optional and also depends on the fabric you are using.

The fabric was a scrap piece found in a fabric shop for under £1 and 3m of pom pom trim was £3.29. In total this diy scarf costs under £5 and it's also a great way to use up any remaining bits of fabric you have lying around.
