Colour Me Happy Style Challenge

I'm very happy to announce I will be taking part in the #ColourMeHappy Challenge which is set to celebrate the arrival of Spring/Summer collections at McArthurGlen’s six UK designer outlets. They are teaming up with some of fashions most sought-after brands and offered to send me some of the latest bright and bold accessories to style up with items already in my wardrobe. I've been busy this week doing just exactly that!

It's safe to say my wardrobe could do with a bit of brightening up. I tend to stick to black and rarely wear colour. So this was a huge challenge for me. I'm much happier with colourful accessories that I can pair with little black dresses or denim and it's the easiest way to introduce more colour into your everyday style. The accessories I've been asked to style include a Pillar-Box Red LuLu Guinness clutch and a pair of Cobalt Blue Sandal Heels from Kurt Geiger. I've created three looks for various occassions, using the accessories both together and separately.

Scroll down to see my three outfits in detail, hopefully I'll provide some inspiration for S/S - don't forget to let me know which is your favourite look...

Boyfriend Jeans - Primark
Cobalt Blue Jumper - Glamorous

Sunglasses - RayBan
Clutch - OASAP

Casual Blues. On Monday I paired these bright blue Kurt Geiger sandals with relaxed boyfriend jeans and a white tee. There was a chill in the air so I threw on this cobalt blue cropped jumper to keep warm - it's also a great colour match. My favourite weather is happening right now, sunny and bright but still cool enough for a cardigan or leather jacket. I don't like it too hot!

Grey Jersey Skirt - DIY
Denim Shirt - Topshop

Denim & Stripes. Wednesday was quite warm and sunny. I'm braving the pale leg situation in order to to show off these sandals again. I'm using both accessories together today which was difficult, I've never tried to pair blue and red before! I went for a neutral base but kept things light with greys and whites. Oh and a pale denim shirt for when it gets chilly later on! At first glance this clutch bag looks only suitable for nights out but I actually think it's very versatile and it's perfect for adding a splash of colour.

City Polka Dots. On finally on Friday's I like to wear something during the day that I can transition into evening wear. I've gone with my trusty and battered flats for comfort because I'll be doing lots of walking around the city today but I'd easily swap these for heels and maybe add a leather jacket or blazer for tonight. I like using red as a statement colour and just one small pop of colour from this Lulu Guinness clutch is all I need.

  1. Oh my, I'm in love with those blue heels!

  2. I love the colour palette that you've chosen! So pretty

  3. The cobalt is my favourite by far, but you've incorporated the colours so well in every outfit!
