Men are not easy to buy for. Fact. Every Birthday or Christmas that comes around for my dad, brother and boyfriend I struggle to find fun yet useful gifts for bargain prices. So today I'm going to show you three easy DIY gift ideas that cost very little and will make the men in your life happy. Hopefully. I've averagely priced each diy too but of course this varies on where you buy your products.
001. DIY Printed TeeUsing fabric paints you can paint whatever you like on to a simple cotton t-shirt. I went for this Breaking Bad design because Josh is obsessed with the boxset. You could print their favourite band or sports team and it's a one off gift that they can hopefully wear with pride knowing it was made just for them. I find Dylon Fabric Paint works the best for a soft flexible finish that looks the most professional. Primark Tee + Fabric Paint = £6.00
002. DIY Personalised Wooden Keyring
This ones a little trickier to create but you can visit your local homeware DIY shop and pick up some off cuts or small mdf boards. With the help of a saw and hand-drill (and possibly a more useful adult) you can create wooden keyring tags that can be labelled however you like. I went all around the edges with sandpaper after cutting too for softer round corners. A sharpie permanent marker works a treat but you can also stamp with acrylic paint which I did with the JM initials. Attach a metal ring and wrap in a gift bag for a truly unique little stocking filler.
Off Cut Wood + Sharpie Marker + Keyring = £5.00
003. DIY Personalised Wash Bag
I picked up this canvas wash bag on Amazon for around £3. Stamp print their initials using the same technique I used in these diy tutorials here and here. (I will have a post dedicated to stamping up soon.) I used Dylon Fabric Paint which worked perfectly and is set for life so even if the bag gets wet or needs throwing in the washing machine, the design will not fade. You can stuff it full of men's bathroom goodies or introduce them to some of your fave unisex products and that's one Christmas present done! Wash Bag + Fabric Paint = £5.00
My favourite has to be the personalised wash bags. It's not something guys would buy for themselves but everyone needs a toiletry bag especially when travelling. Which is your favourite DIY? Will you be trying any of these out this year? If you do please send me your photos I love to see people's finished projects. You can email me or find me on Twitter.
Make sure to check out my DIY Archive for more tutorials and gift ideas. Keep your eye's peeled as next week I'll be revealing my DIY Gifts for Girls post and there are some seriously easy craft projects for under £5.
