A Trip to Birmingham - Photo Diary

A few weekends ago Josh and I headed down the M6 to see some of Birmingham. I've been to the city before for Clothes Show Live but I've never explored the centre. We stayed at Hotel La Tour which is smack bang in the city centre and honestly one of the nicest hotels we have ever stayed in. It's not the cheapest but if you're looking to treat yourself it's the perfect option. We stayed in room 515 (bit gutted it wasn't 505 due to my obsession with that recent AM song) and everything in the room was touch screen operated, super clean and the shower was ginormous!

After we'd dropped off our bags we headed straight out again for lunch and found an amazing little burger place called The Handmade Burger Company where we split a BBQ Bacon & Cheese Burger and a BBQ Chicken Burger, Peri Peri Chips and Gherkins. After the drive down we were also in dire need of a beer. Manchester really needs this place!

We spent the rest of the day shopping at The Bullring and popping into Starbucks for my usual Chai Tea Frappe. That night we ate out at Jamie's Italian which was a slightly disappointing meal compared the first Jamie's we ate in his Manchester restaurant. Then it was back to the hotel bar for cocktails - Cosmo and a Raspberry Daiquiri whilst we listened to live music. I got to wear my Herve Leger dress, kindly lent to me from (see my post on that dress here)

I'd love to hear your thoughts on the city of Birmingham, I'd be happy to go back for longer next time it was a lovely place to visit.

  8. Hi! I got to your blog 'cos I saw an ombre jacket on ASOS and was looking for a cheaper alternative, and got linked to your ombre-dyeing DIY post. I kept reading the main page, and whoa, this is a lovely website.

The photos are so pretty, the things you make and wear are so pretty, You're so pretty - wow the colour of your eyes??? (I sound like a fangirl already.)

I'm from Singapore and a Jamie's Italian just recently opened up here, so gonna check it out once the crowd has thinned out, 'cos apparently it's fully booked for a few weeks.

Gonna check in now and then! Love great finds on the internet, and will be sticking to yours x

  9. The food was decent, but way overpriced for you what get. I enjoyed by margarita, however. We had the crap tacos (very good, but about $5 overpriced) and empanadas (not the best and about twice as much as they should have been). Taxi Birmingham to London
