Twistband Hair Ties

Ages ago I received a couple of Twistband elastic hair ties in a GlossyBox and loved them so much I popped over to the site to buy some more. But disappointingly they only shipped within the USA and Canada. So I have to thank beauty blogger MakeupSavvy for this eBay bargain - (you can check out her Summer Wishlist post here) as she's found a pack of 24 elastic hair ties just like the Twistbands, in a variety of colours for only £4.54 including postage. I bought some straight away as my originals were getting a bit old and tatty. I'm storing mine in this little glass makeup pot from IKEA.

The best things about these simple bands are that they don't leave nasty kinks in your hair after wearing one for a while. I like to tie my hair up before bed and using one of these as opposed to a normal hair band means I can wake up in the morning without having to address the issue of kinks. The soft stretchy material is also kind to hair, much better for preventing breakages. They are also super comfortable to wear on your wrist as they don't dig in and cut off the blood supply. I tend to pop a few on at a time. They look quite cool as wrist bands and it's useful at work to always have one handy.
These bargain eBay ones are just as good as the original Twistbands and having a supply of 24 means they should last me a fair while. Shipping wise they took around 2 weeks to get to the UK. You can buy them here.

  1. How do you tighten them up? Are they really stretchy so you can wrap it round loads of times?! Been curious about this sort of thing for ages but don't get how it doesn't leave a kink if you've got it tight enough to actually stay in your hair! x

  2. Could you please do a tutorial/DIY-Friday-post of how to do a shoulder cut out top (like this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Boohoo-Charlotte-Cut-Out-Shoulder-Top-/360619499246)?

That would be really helpfull and you're so good at DIYs!
