What I Wear to Uni Lookbook

One of my favourite aspects of fashion is styling. I really enjoy putting clothes together and choosing pieces that make up an outfit. My style at the moment is very much geared around wearing baggy knits on top and skinny fit on the bottom. The feedback I received from my blog survey a few weeks ago was so inspiring. Many people asked for more of these types of posts, where I pre-plan outfits for the week or show you how I'm wearing items in my wardrobe.

Anyway, on with the actually outfits... I've styled up the kind of things I wear on a daily basis, mainly to University. These are great outfits for school or college - they're simple, comfortable and on trend. They are also items that can be easily mixed and matched for a huge variety of options.

Look #1 - Grunge

A shirt and jumper combo is always a winner. Let the collar and cuffs poke out for glimpses of detail. I love adding some pattern with a big scarf or and this oversized look with denim really emulates the grunge trend. In the Winter I'd wear these vintage Levis with thick tights and in the Summer, loose the tights and the jumper to make grunge work in the sun!

Tartan Scarf - Urban Outfitters, Tartan Shirt - Primark, Denim Shorts - Vintage Levis, Black Embellished Jumper - DIYBowler Hat - H&M, Lace up boots - Primark, Bracelets - Topshop, Belt - Vintage

Look #2 - Neon

I'm adding touches of neon to everything these days! The majority of the bold skirt will stay hidden under a baggy loose knit, while the neon laces brings the look together. This has quite a sport-luxe vibe. This look will work with high tops, converse, vans or any other type of sporty shoe.

Black beanie - H&M, Neon skirt - H&M, Jumper - Primark, Trainers - Nike Backboards II, Chain Necklace - New Look

Look #3 - Casual Cool

My favourite way to wear boyfriend jeans is with a simple white tee. I'm so glad they are on trend again as they are super comfortable and flattering when worn correctly. Tight fit tshirt or loose, it doesn't matter as long as you dress it up with some jewellery. Add simple classic heels for the night!

Celine Tee - eBay, Khaki Jacket - DIY, Boyfriend Jeans - River Island, Trainers - Converse All Stars, Chain - Vintage, Watch - Michael Kors

Look #4 - Soft Goth

For a dark rainy day when all you want is to stay warm layer up all your clothes. This is actually an all-in-one dress which gives the illusion that you've thought about styling. Touches of gold add a bit of a glam edge. Depending on the weather I like to wear longer length dresses with bare legs and boots.

Look #5 - Cosmic Creep

When you have a colourful or loud pattern hanging in your wardrobe, the best way to wear this to Uni is with black. It's so easy to put together on days where you don't have time to think about clothes. Layering up some long necklaces adds interest to an otherwise plain top half. These galaxy leggings are currently on sale!

Look #6 - Midi Lengths

I occasionally like to try new things, like putting a t-shirt over a dress and knotting it on one side. This is a soft monochrome look with a burgundy beanie thrown in for good measure. You can create whole new outfits just by playing around with layering. Turn a dress into a skirt or a dress into a top by wearing things over the top.

I have fun putting these lookbooks together for you guys, even though it takes up a little more time. It's beneficial to myself too, I can see what I actually have in my wardrobe and think about pairing pieces with each other that I may never have thought of otherwise. It also allows me to see what I'm missing and what I have way too much of.

I'd recommend everyone do this every so often. Even if you just lay your clothes out on the floor and arrange them in to possible future outfits. If I layer things up I sometimes just keep them on the same hanger and put them back in my closet this way. Then when I'm rushing around in the morning trying to find something to wear, I already have a styled ensemble!

I'd love to know which is your favourite, and what you thought of this post. Would you like to see more styling ideas in the future?
