Sophia Couture A/W Show

On Sunday evening I caught the train to Oxford Road Station to see Sophia Couture's Show at The Palace Hotel in Manchester. Sophia is an up and coming Greek fashion designer living in Manchester and she studied at The University of Salford (like me!) So I felt I had an odd connection with her. We were treated to goodie bags and a glass of champagne on arrival before the show started. Her designs are inspired by all structures and natural elements and the collection was full of party dresses perfect for the festive season. It really got me in the mood to go dress shopping and I spotted some amazing styles...

Ruffles and gathers featured heavily, and I love this deep v on the white and black dress. There were many backless (and sideless) numbers and I love the strong shape of each dress. The main colours featured were black, white, red and gold - just as I'd expect for this time of year!

This dress modeled in white and red was a real eye-catcher! What amazing shoulders and arm ties. I'd personally love to wear a toned down version for Christmas parties but this is perfect for standing out from the crowd at a really big occasion.

Here are all the models back on the catwalk - and Sophia herself. Check out the huge spiral fan on the back of that dress! After the show we were treated to some music from the wonderfully talented Amy Jo Clough and you can hear her music by clicking the link to her YouTube channel.

I had to rush off afterwards so didn't really get to mingle with any other bloggers of meet Sophia herself but the whole collection was beautiful and I just wanted to try everything on. I took so many photographs I couldn't include them all. Which is your favourite?
