Glossy Box Christmas

It's December - another month for a new Glossy Box and of course this month it's a Christmas Glossy Box! First of all there is the beautiful silver box which makes a nice change and inside silver shredding and starry tissue paper tied up with a silver ribbon which made this box feel very special before I even knew what was inside.

Rituals - Magic Touch Cherry Blossom and Rice Milk Whipped Body Cream
I've heard many good things about Rituals products so I was happy to see a generous sized sample of their body cream in my box. It smells amazing, like sweets, without being overpowering, it soaks in quickly and it leaves my skin very smooth and silky. Very happy - it will all get used up.

Seche Vite Nail Polish in 'Elegant'
I own the famous Seche Vite Fast Dry Top Coat and had heard they also did nail colours so I was keen to try them out! I tested this on one nail and it only needed one coat for a solid metallic colour and it dried really quickly, but I'm not too keen on the shade. I think my Mum would really like this colour so I might pop it in her Christmas present as an extra.

Sleek True Colour Lipstick
I've been keen to try the Sleek Lipsticks for ages but never got around to buying one. It's a great classic shade of red but I'm not sure I can pull it off. It's nice to try out reds though as I don't tend to pick them up when I'm shopping.

Argentum Apothecary Anti Ageing Cream
I was disappointed with this sample. Although I'm sure it's a wonder product I wont be using any anti ageing cream just yet! I'll put it in my box of things to giveaway for someone who might appreciate it. I would guess the majority of Glossy Box customers are under the age of 30 and therefore have no need for a product like this.

Mary Greenwell 'Lemon' fragrance
This lemon scented perfume sample is certainly lemon-y! I can't think of any other way to describe it. I would associate it with Summer though, not Christmas and it's not my kind of scent. Someone who loves citrus perfumes would be happy with this though.

GlossyBox Blusher in 'Glossy Pink'
I was keen to try this out and I was not disappointed with the results. It's a lovely shade of dusky pink that I think would suit everyone but especially pale skin tones like mine. The pigmentation is really good, in fact it was easy to pick too much up on the brush sometimes. I'd have liked this product to have been a bit bigger - it's more of an eyeshadow sized pot.

Overall I'd rate the Christmas Glossy Box as a 7/10. It includes some great products but I'd have liked to have seen a real star item, something that everyone would be delighted with as a sort of Happy Christmas present to all Glossy subscribers.
Did you get a Christmas Glossy Box? What was in yours? I'm always interested in hearing your thoughts so please leave me a comment below.

  1. I got very similar products to you but an anti-dryness cream instead of the sachets. I'm not impressed this month either and am giving a few products to my Mum as I think she'd like them more.
I haven't tried the body cream yet but you've tempted me!

  2. I really like that lipstick colour, let us know how it is xo

  3. How great is Glossy Box!? We just did a story on them with the magazine I work for and I'm thinking I need to sign up! Your goodies this month look amazing!

  4. I got similar products to you, I had a great hair conditioner in mine that smells like whipped cream and is generally fab! I wasn't impressed with the rest of the products particularly though. xo

  5. Don't leave anti-ageing products just because they're targeted at older women, the best age to start using them is when you're young; to prevent getting wrinkles in the first place!
