Michael Kors Watch

On my 21st Birthday just over a week ago my wonderful boyfriend treated me to a Michael Kors watch. We popped into Manchester to pick out my ideal one. I've been lusting after a MK watch for years and I know how popular they are within the blogging community. I have been wearing a cheaper oversized watch for ages, it's definitely my style - I prefer a chunky metal band and large face to a dainty feminine strap. I like that the MK ladies watches make such a statement. The rose gold ones were top of my wish list but once I tried a few on in Selfridges I realised they weren't for me. Although beautiful, the rose gold colour didn't suit my skin tone and I had zero jewellery that would match. Instead I fell in love with the traditional gold watches and this one with tiny crystals running all away around the face really caught my eye.

I wanted something that looked worth the money and with all MK watches at around £230-£250 I thought a little bit of glitz looks much more expensive! The exact model name and number for my watch is 'Golden Runway Watch with Glitz MK5166' and you can view it on the Michael Kors website here. It was £229 and we bought it from Goldsmiths as Selfridges didn't stock this model. I'd recommend looking around for your perfect watch as many jewellers stock different styles. All tend to be the same price though. The customer service I received in Goldsmiths was brilliant. They even removed a few links for me then and there for free so the watch fitted snugly on my wrist. In fact, it was a little too tight but when I returned a few days later with my spare links there was no trouble with popping a link back in for me.

I'm wearing my MK watch everyday - or as often as possible. I don't believe in saving something like this for 'best' as I wear a watch all the time and really want to get my money's (or Josh's money's) worth. Of course I am petrified of scratching it or bumping it on a hard surface so I am being extra careful. It's a beautiful piece and something I'll be keeping forever - I can always look back and remember receiving it on my 21st Birthday.
