High Tea at Cloud 23

A few weeks back on a Saturday afternoon (like the old women we have become) myself and three of my best friends flew 23 floors up to Cloud 23 - the bar at the top of The Hilton, Manchester for (high tea) afternoon tea. High tea consists of drinking lots of tea and coffee, eating finger sandwiches, tiny cakes and scones with lots of jam and cream! In a bid to include more lifestyle posts on this blog, I thought I'd tell you  a bit about it...

As you can see the views of Manchester are quite amazing and on a clear day like we had, you can see for miles. I was really happy with the quality of food and environment at Cloud 23. I've been before at night for cocktails and this was quite different. However, the service was not brilliant. Although everyone was very friendly and welcoming, we often were left waiting for service and had to get up ourselves to find a waitress. We were also over charged so be careful of this. We had an email saved on my phone which sorted this out. For the price you pay (£19.95 per person) I expected to be treated a little better.

Even so I was there with these 3 beautiful people who showered me with birthday gifts and made me feel very special. Afterwards we did a bit of shopping (picking up our free AA nail polishes) and caught the train home. I'd definitely recommend this as a girly day out. Or a nice way to treat your Mum on her birthday or Mother's Day. I can't see too many men being satisfied by finger sandwiches and dainty cakes though. Book yourselves in way in advance, I had to wait 2 weeks longer than I wanted for a table on a Saturday afternoon.
