I haven't done an outfit post in what seems like forever! Nothing spectacular here, I just wanted to show you my new jeans. I've been wanting to get hold of a pair of boyfriend jeans for ages. Rewind a couple of years and everyone was throwing these away in place of drainpipe skinnies. I ended up with a wardrobe full of skinny jeans and nothing with any sort of relaxed shape. But the new slouchy fit jean is a little different to the old one. They are tapered at the bottom now, meaning no more flares or boot cuts. They basically start low at your hips - go straight down - and then are drawn back in with the cuffs turned up.

For one thing, they are super difficult to wear. In the summer your best bet is wearing boyfriend jeans with a white tee or vest top. In the winter it's much more difficult. Wrapping up in lots of layers and boots can look awkward as the jeans are so big anyway. The safest bet it to either wear a bright coloured knit (jumper or cardigan) or a slim tshirt with a light jacket. For day time I needed my converse, but for dressing these jeans up a little at night, feminine heels and a blazer would be ideal.

I bought these from ebay (originally RI) and although they are my usual size they're much too big. I'm having to hold them up with a belt. I'd suggest trying boyfriend or slouch fit jeans on in a shop first, you might find you need to go down a size. Topshop have some great ones at the moment.

How are you wearing slouchy jeans? They make a strange alternative to skinnies or leggings which is what I have been used to for so long. They're so comfortable though! I'm also testing out my new studio light for the first time in these photos. Hopefully it's going to make taking outfit pics in the half light so much easier. I'm still trying to work out where best to place it but I think the overall lighting of my photos is much more even. Yey!

  1. you look stunning in everything!:D<3

  2. I haven't invested in boyfriend jeans because I'm always worried they will look too baggy with knit jumpers etc, but these look really flattering! May have to try some on! They look perfect with converse too! x

  3. both outfits are so casual and cute:D

  4. Havent worn boyfriend jeans for years, they used to be a staple! You pull them off really well here :) xx

  5. I love these, especially the first outfit! You look insane xo

  6. Your jeans look super comfy! I've looked at getting some boyfriend jeans myself before now, but I always came to the conclusion that since I'm quite little they probably would make me look out of proportion! I love the bright orange jumper :)

  8. Love the leather sleeve jacket, it looks great on you. Nice contrasting with the red nails, looking good :) x

  9. They look so comfortable! Love them teamed with the jacket. And the Topshop ones are nice too. x

  10. They look so great on you, I always feel 5 times bigger when I try a pair. I'm a skinnies girl through and through!

  11. I don't think boyfriend jeans would suit me much, but I do really love yours. Makes me wish I WOULD suit them. xo

  12. How cool are you! I'm not usually one to wear the boyfriend style but I'm in for anything with that "destroyed" look.
