Making a Summer Dress Suitable for Autumn

Summer Outfit - Dress and Shoes Miss Ikon
Autumn Outfit - Creepers Tribeca Shoes, Cardigan and Jacket New Look, Belt Primark

Now Autumn has hit us (full speed ahead I might add) and my legs have reverted back to being an iridescent shade of white, it's time to pack away all our lovely summer items. But I'm determined to still get wear out of things, so I thought I'd show you guys how I'll be wearing my summer dresses in Autumn. This is an outfit I'd wear to Uni or at the weekend, it's a great way of dressing down a pretty summery dress and making it wearable on everyday occasions.

It's all about layering up. So add tights, socks, boots (or in this case creepers) and throw on a chunky knit cardigan for warmth. I'll also be wearing this khaki parka jacket I've had for years this year now they are back 'in'. Dresses are the easiest items to think about as you don't need to pair a top and bottom you just shove the whole thing on. I think I prefer wearing dresses in the colder months than I do in the Summer!
I love this Aztec dress from Miss Ikon too, it's a great length for Autumn and made out of such a lovely silky fabric. I got it a size up from my usual so it would be a little slouchier and a belt holds everything in. I need to find the perfect orange scarf to match it's print now!

It's so difficult to take outfit photos without lots of natural light. Today was so gloomy I had the camera lens wide open to let as much light in and therefore compromised on quality. But even though the nights are drawing in now and it gets dark by 7, I'm enjoying wearing some comfy jumpers and fluffy socks.
