Get Ready for Autumn #PassionForFashion

We seem to have fallen head first into Autumn here in the UK. The sun might still be shining (occasionally) but there's a crisp chill in the air that requires a second layer - or two. Moneysupermarket.com the online price comparison site, are running a #passionforfashion competition in order to get everyone looking stylish for any occasion during Autumn and Winter, whilst saving a few pennies too. I've scoured the high street online to find my best picks at the best prices (all items are linked underneath) ....

This would be my ideal Autumn outfit, perfect for long walks in the park, kicking up the leaves and drinking hot chocolate. It combines all my latest favourite trends. I really should pick up this beanie hat in a few colours, I can see me wearing them often whilst waiting on the train platform on a cold morning. The whole outfit totals up at under £129 which is super manageable - especially on classic items you will wear again and again. Everyone needs a pair of black skinny jeans in their wardrobe!

You can't beat a party outfit for under £130! Embellishments are the new studs and they look a million times more expensive! A little black dress suits anyone and this one from Miss Selfridge comes with a triangle shaped cut-out back. I decided to go for unusual and unique pieces of jewellery such as this hand cuff bar with attached rings and this Aztec design gold wrist cuff. If you're dress has lots of heavy embellishment go for simple chunky items of jewellery that make a statement. I'd carry this slouchy bag as a clutch and forget the strap.

Depending on how strict your office is depends on what you can wear to work! As a student I am yet to embrace the real world but I imagine myself wearing exactly this to my swanky office job working for a high end magazine in the city (pah!) The white shirt is formal and traditional but the floral design gives it a on-trend touch. The burgundy accompaniments offer an alternative to boring black. I'd keep my jewellery simple with this oversized rose gold watch and drop this cute iPhone case/purse into my handbag so I can pull it out to pop to the shops on my lunch break or take to the bar for drinks after work. These items total up at just £105.98! I've surprised myself that I can pick all these beauties from the high street for this price.

It's so hard to decide what to wear on a first date. My general rule is that everyone feels both comfortable and confident in a good pair of skinny jeans - so lets work around those. I've added a slinky embroidered cami top to dress them up and nude blazer. You then look both smart whilst having a little skin on show. Balance is key. Wearing midi heels are still feminine but you won't be towering over your date or stumbling around. You want something classic and chic so maybe save the tight red dress for the 2nd date?

Oversized Cardigan | Boyfriend Jeans | Cross Necklaces | Hi Top Trainers | V Neck Tee | Drop Pendant

For casual days or college days I have to be comfortable. I also don't always associate casual with girly. Follow the androgynous trend by wearing all of your dad's clothes. OR you can just buy the right key pieces from Topshop instead! I love their slouchy fit tapered jeans with a loose fit V neck tee. Keep warm in an oversized chunky knit and layer up gold jewellery for a feminine touch. These concealed wedge hi tops are comfy yet stylish and at such a good price! The total for this look is just £181.98 - and it will be an outfit you just keep coming back to.

~

So there are my five outfits for five very different occasions. Putting these together and actually calculating the total price has really been an eye opener! I never quite realised how much money goes into one outfit but at the same time I've been really impressed with the prices on the high street. I thought I would struggle to choose an entire outfit for under £200 but there you go - I did it!

Has anyone else entered the #passionforfashion competition? Which is your favourite look out of the five I have put together?
