GlossyBox July 2012

It's Glossy Box time! Once again I have a fresh new box of products arriving at my door step - this month's box was put together with festivals in mind. So here's a quick run down of what's in mine and what I think...

#1 Collin Resultime - Regenerating Collagen Gel
Sorry to start on a bad note but I won't be using this one. My skin has always reacted badly to serums or gels so I just don't want to risk it. I'm sure it's a wonderful product for those who benefit from using serums though. I shall pass it along to someone who will love it more than I can.

#2 Awapuhi Wild Ginger Texturising Sea Spray
This product I LOVE. It's perfect timing too as my beloved Charles Worthington Front Line Salt Spray has just run out. This one is travel size too so I'll be taking it with me to America and using for days when I want a tousled beach hair look (which is most days!) It smells lovely and doesn't weigh down my hair. I used it the other day and posted a photo of my 'birds nest hair' on instagram, so if you like that look - I used this product to achieve it! I received a hair oil from this company too from a previous GlossyBox which smells exactly the same and does a lovely job. So definitely a brand to look out for in the future.

#3 Monu Extra Rich Night Cream
Another Monu product - I'm unsure whether to use this as my first Monu day moisturiser sample smells so weird. I don't think I can get used to the smell and I tend to just use my Simple Light Moisturiser for day and night.

#4 Jelly Pong Pong Lip Frosting
I'd not heard of this brand before but it seems many of you have and were excited to receive this. It smells (and tastes) very very sugary and sweet but does a nice job of keeping my lips moisturised for a long time and giving them a hint of colour too. I tried this out on my cheeks with success too - the sticky formula seemed to disappear once I'd blended it in to my skin and it left a powerful flush of pink on my cheeks.

#5 Kryolan Satin Powder Eye Shadow
I'm sure Kryolan make great eye powders but this colour is just not for me at all. It's a very coral pink and a shade I'd rather use on my cheeks than on my eyes. Being fair skinned, pink eyeshadow just makes my eyes  look tired and weary. I bet other skin tones could pull off this colour though - into my box of mini gifts it goes.

#6 Elizabeth Arden Visible Different Samples
I'm looking forward to trying these as I've heard so many good things about Elizabeth Arden products. This was a nice extra to include.

Overall I wouldn't say this was a star-box kinda month. But hey ho - we can't always get a box of everything we've ever wanted! I was super impressed with the salt spray and loving the Jelly Pong Pong lip tint - and the other items wont go to waste. I still let out a little squeal of excitement every time a Glossy Box arrives at my door - you never know what you might discover...What did you guys think about this month's box?
