Current Skincare

When it comes to skincare I have my favourites and I rarely stray from them. I also have sensitive skin and a lot of products made for skin are too harsh so I have to be careful. I found these 5 products above work really well for me.

Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish
An amazing hot cloth cleanser that is full of natural ingredients and works a treat on blemish prone skin. This keeps spots and reduces redness in my skin. I've used this for over a year now and it has never irritated my skin. I wish I would remember to use this more often. I go through phases where I will religiously use this twice a day for weeks and then I forget all about it! I like to use this in the morning for a refreshing awakening feel to my skin.
If you've still not tried this yet, then why not!? The price tag is quite hefty but I find these 200ml squeezy tubes last longer. You can use as much or as little as you need and really squeeze out all of the product so none is wasted. With the 100ml pump bottles you can never be sure how much product is left inside that the pump can't reach. A 200ml tube lasts around 4 months if I was to use it everyday.

Simple Foaming Cleanser
This is a new one and I've only been using it for about a week. But so far I love it! It's a very gentle cleanser for sensitive skin and it foams up so nicely with a little warm water on your skin. I feel like I am really getting rid of all that left over makeup in my pores and afterwards my skin feels fresh, very soft and very clean.
It also makes my skin immediately look more even and reduces redness instantly. I like to use this one at night to get rid of all the daily dirt and grime!
I think the bottle should last me around 6 weeks which is great for the price as I paid under £3 for this in Bodycare.

Simple Light Moisturiser
I've used this for years. It's a great lightweight moisturiser for everyday use. Never had any problems with this one and it leaves my skin very soft and super moisturised. It's a good one for oily skin too as it's not heavy or greasy on the skin at all. A bottle is £1.99 from Bodycare and lasts about 2 months with everyday use.

Sudocrem
A spot healing miracle! Pop this on to any spots or oncoming spots overnight and it works wonders. This gets rid of blemishes within 2 or 3 days max. A quick treatment. It also prevents spots from emerging. It does get everywhere though and you will look ridiculous with patches of white all over your face. So save this one for night time or bath time. I've had the same little squeeze tube for about 5 months. Of course you can still buy the huge pots (which last for years!)

Tea Tree Oil
This is another brilliant treatment for blemishes. I always buy the blended oil as the concentrated stuff is way to harsh for skin. Dab a little on to a blemish and it dries it up over night reducing size and redness.
I've been neglecting my tea tree oil recently and opting for Sudocrem instead. For me, tea tree oil works better on angry blemishes whereas Sudocrem is better for those under-the-skin spots.

I'm always keen to try new exciting products out - what are your skincare essentials or miracle treatments?

  1. I LOVE that simple moisturiser! I find that some other brands either irritate my skin or make it really oily. My wonder product at the moment is a Neutragena face wash, 'visibly clear' in pink grapefruit. The smell wakes me up every single morning and I have noticed a real change in my skin!
