ZARA Frankie Sandford Dress

A while back it seemed the whole blogsphere was raving about this red Zara dress spotted on Frankie Sandford from The Saturdays.
I spotted it in one of Gemma's (Gemsmaquillage) YouTube videos in the black version and thought it looked lovely, but I think the idea of the super thick material and what appeared to be a super short length put me off.

A few days later and Gemma uploaded a new vlog this time wearing the dress. And it was then that I was convinced that I needed it! She looked fantastic in it and the shape of the dress when worn is really beautiful.
Unfortunately it came with a £39.99 price tag which was a bit out of my budget, especially when I didn't really need a new LBD.

So imagine my delight when one night, internet shopping, I came across the Zara sale starting at midnight - that night. It must have been fate because the time was 11.56.
So of course I waited... the sale went live, and I noticed a nice £10 dropped from the original price of the dress!
I was so excited I basketed (?) the dress straight away and ignored the rest of the sale. I was too scared if I didn't pay right then and there they would sell out of my size and colour! That's some panic buying for you.

I think my hasty buying did pay off, because Zara have now completely sold out of this dress in Red and Beige and only have a few sizes left in the Black. So if you want one - get on there quick!!

beautifully packaged!

sorry for the bad quality photos guys, the sun was not behaving.

I initially loved the dress, the fabric, the shape... but now I'm worried I won't get as much wear out of it as I should. The photos don't really show it off very well but it is way too dressy for the day, its a posh-evening-frock for sure.
I also don't think it suits me quite as much as it did Gemma. The waist/chest is a little loose for me. I bought a size medium as that's what I usually am in Zara, but maybe a small would have been better.
Hmm, it needs mulling over. What do you think? Should I return it?

What are your thoughts on the 'Frankie dress'?

  6. Aww it's lovely, so glam for a night out! Maybe if you put a skinny belt with it it would look a little more cinched? But if you're not totally happy, definitely take it back. Too many times I've kept something I wasn't completely happy with and then never worn it!
